Call me Chris Kouju. I’m a fantasy and science fiction writer who gave up a comfy and respectable nine-year career as a Malaysian journalist, blowing a f*ck load of savings along the way, to fly halfway across the world. All in pursuit of a dream.
Now armed with a Masters in Creative Writing and mildly befuddled that people love the wacky stuff in my brain, I am still in love with the world, only very recently employed and these days on the edge!
I’ve written a 98,000 word novel I am aiming to finish editing this year, as long as I keep chugging on a word count that seems to be moving along with the face-searing speeds of a constipated rhino.
But by hook or by crook, I WILL slay this dragon. And when that happens, someday perhaps I will fulfil the dream of becoming published. (Literary agents, where are you?)
This blog aims to chronicle my trials, joys and constant writerly battles with procrastination and despair.
Along the way, I’ll touch on my geeky interests in computer rpgs, anime, manga, yaoi, technology, martial arts, history, military battles, travel and photography. Occasionally I will inflict random victims with amateur photographs which I consider to be nifty 🙂
Ye have been warned.
